What is yeast?

A substance used for making bread rises and for making beer, wine etc. 

Types of yeast -

i) Baker's yeast

ii) Nutritional yeast

iii) Brewer's yeast

iv) Distiller's yeast

➡️Twenty million yeast = 1gm yeast powder

➡️It is also known as suger eating fungus. 

➡️It's scientific name is Saccharomy Cerevisiae.

➡️It is also known as - catalyst, fungus, rising, agent, fermenter, leavening.

What is fermentation? 

Fermentation is a process in which a substance breaks down into a simpler substance. 

➡️Macroorganisms like yeast and bacteria usually play a role in the fermentation process, creating beer, wine, bread, and other food.

What is catalyst (उत्प्रेरक)? 

A substance which changes the rate of a reaction without itself undergoing (के दौर से गुजरना ) any permanent chemical change.

What is saprotrophic or saprophytic nutrition? 

In this nutrition an organism obtaines its food from decaying organic matter of dead plants, dead, animals and rotten bread etc. 

What is parasitic nutrition? 

That nutrition in which an organism derives its food from the body of another living organism (which is called its host) without killing it.

➡️ A parasitic is an organism (plant or animal) which feeds on another living organism call its host.

What is holozonic nutrition? 

That nutrition in which an organism takes the complete organic food materials into its body by the process of ingestion. 

➡️The ingested food is digested and then absorbed into the body cells of organism. 

➡️ Ingestion :-  that process in which food enters the digestive system through the mouth.
